Bachelor Students
The guidelines are based on the ¡§Academic Guidelines of Chung Hua University.¡¨  
   
The requirements for courses taken in each semester:  
Maximum credits: At most 25 credits can be taken in each semester (including extended study periods). For those who study education program, at most 29 credits can be taken in each semester.
Minimum credits:
 
¡·
At least 16 credits must be taken in each semester for the first three years of study, and at least 9 credits must be taken in each semester for the fourth year of the study.
¡·
For extended study periods, there is no minimum credit limit. However, a student needs to register for the semester and should take at least one course.
With the approval of the Department Head, a student who has an average grade of 80% or higher in a semester, may elect to study, in the following semester:

One or two extra courses.
¡·
Required courses in a higher level or in another department. However, the credits taken in other departments in the second year and in the third year cannot exceed the credits taken in the Department. (A student who studies minor major or double majors is not constrained by this regulation.)
The Department Head may deduct one or two courses taken in a semester by a student whose credits failed was equal to or more than one-third of the total credits taken in the previous semester.
 
The regulations for courses taken in other programs/departments:  
The credits taken in other programs/departments cannot exceed one-third of the total credits taken in the semester.
An approval from the Department Head must be granted for taking a required course in another program/department.
 
A student must follow the program requirements that apply to him/her based on the year of entering the program.  
   

The guidelines are implemented after the passing of the Department meeting, and any revision can only be implemented after the passing of a Department meeting.
